Support Action Alliance for Children
For more than 30 years, Action Alliance for Children has been building,
supporting, informing and documenting advocacy efforts on behalf of children
and families in California. Consider this:
- A researcher from the Harvard School of Public health calls to get
more information about programs profiled in our Successful Strategies
for Children's Health booklet.
- The coordinator of a unit in the Monterey County Department of Social
Services writes us a letter complimenting us on "an exceptional
forum." He writes, "The substance of the forum was mostly
new to me, so it has been exciting to bring the pieces back to our staff."
- A former welfare recipient in Oakland, now working for a children's
agency, reads a Grassroots Snapshot
article from the Children's Advocate profiling
the Welfare Reform Coalition of Los Angeles and is now taking steps
to assist with organizing efforts in Alameda County.
As the publisher of the award-winning Children's
Advocate bimonthly newspaper, we listen and speak to those committed
to the healthy development of all children in our diverse state. Our conferences
bring together service providers, advocates, and policymakers working
on children's issues. Our web site archives policy articles difficult
to find anywhere else. We are becoming an online information clearinghouse
and community.
Our relationship network spans from San Diego to Eureka, from children's
health to child care, from primary education to foster care, from grassroots
activists to state legislators. We are uniquely positioned to document,
validate, inform and support the growing advocacy movement for young children
in California.
For those that care about community, California, and our collective future,
we welcome your support of Action Alliance for Children and the children's
advocacy movement.

The AAC Annual Fund
This program allows us to improve our reporting depth and breadth, diversify
and enlarge our distribution, and explore potential collaborations to
better serve the needs of children in California. For example:
- $1,000 funds the work of our reporters for an issue. Our reporters
are passionate about writing stories that explore the real impact of
various children's policy issues on real people, in real communities.
Our internship program supports developing journalists interested in
children's policy work. Help us support our quality writers.
- $700 allows us to distribute 1,000 additional copies to new
audiences and connect new people with the children's advocacy movement.
Help us spread the word.
- $350 covers the cost of Spanish translation and editing services
of featured articles. Help us include everyone.
- $100 assists us with the purchase of graphics and photos that
enhance the readability of our paper. Help us continuously improve
our publications.

Corporate Sponsorship
There's a bunch of buzz around B2B (Business to Business) this or that.
What about B2C, with C being community? Over the past 30 years, Action
Alliance for Children has been building, connecting, supporting, informing
and documenting the advocacy effort and its growing community in order
to encourage investment in all California's children. The value of positive
community relations around issues related to the needs of children in
California cannot be underestimated -- from the perspective of your organizational
employee relations and morale to a bottom-line marketing agenda -- good
work in the community pays dividends. And we believe there is no more
important work than investing in the children of California. Sponsorship
options include the following:
- Forum/Conference Sponsorship: On a regular basis, Action Alliance
for Children brings together a unique blend of children's service providers
and advocates, grassroots organizers and policy makers. You are invited
to join this effort. Your gift of $1,000 or more supports our forums
and includes acknowledgment in all materials and media opportunities.
- Newspaper Expanded Distributions: The Children's
Advocate frequently produces special-themed issues of particular
interest to a profession, an industry, membership organization. For
example, an issue focused on pediatric practices and child development
was mailed to nearly 5,000 pediatricians in California. Kaiser Permanente
supported that distribution. We have similar opportunities with PTA
chapters, child care providers, educators and state legislators. Your
gift of $3,500 or more helps distribute 5,000 copies of the Children's
Advocate to such audiences.
